HIDEYO BLACKMOON - MY STORY

Hi, dear you all.

Thank you for visiting my page, I am delivering music as medicine to the world, under the name, Hideyo Blackmoon.

I am an expert in a dance floor, where we can be free to express ourselves, and am creating a dance floor as a dancer, a DJ, a composer, a vocalist, a performer, an organizer, and to be myself. Music has shown me the true magic it holds through my life experiences, impacting people's well-being and the world at large.

I firmly believe that artists, especially those who share their music and frequencies, must strive for holistic health in all aspects of life: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and even financial. In 2023, I finally feel that I have acquired the qualifications to do so. The elements I have learned and my discipline have merged seamlessly. Moreover, more people and fellow artists share this vision, making it possible for me to witness and be part of dance floors where we can truly connect and dance together.

It has been a long, enduring journey, and it continues. I am deeply grateful for my path with music and humbly commit to continuous learning and self-improvement.

My love for music began at the tender age of 3 when it captured my heart. I started attending keyboard lessons and eventually performed on stage as a band member from the age of 15. Nightclubbing and partying became a fascination, and I often danced through the night in Tokyo, and occasionally in New York. Living life through the night, indulging in drugs, smoking, alcohol, and an unhealthy lifestyle seemed cool during my younger years. Around the same time, the 4/4 beat known as "four on the floor" or house music emerged. However, since I grew up with strict, conservative parents, music was considered merely a hobby, and I followed that mindset.

Years later, I unexpectedly witnessed the true power of music. One night, in the early 90s, I found myself in a club in Tokyo with a capacity of 3000 people. It was a monumental event where nightclubbers, public figures, and DJs gathered. Everyone on the dance floor was completely absorbed, connected to the music. Time and space seemed to dissolve, boundaries vanished, and the dance floor transformed into a single, unified lifeform. Only years later did I understand that this was the essence of "Oneness."

That pivotal moment marked the beginning of my true journey. I made the decision to live with music, a dream and vision I had never experienced before.

I made a drastic lifestyle change, shifting from an unhealthy to a healthy lifestyle. The first step was to stop consuming toxic substances and start going to the gym. Opportunities came my way after that decision, but it was a step-by-step process. I organized parties, worked as a club manager, and accidentally found myself as a DJ. I played at outdoor parties and festivals, produced clubs, collaborated with others as a singer, and eventually started composing music on my own using computers. Along the way, I encountered masters of meditation, healing arts, wellness, and sustainable lifestyles. I explored various healthy diets, living environments, and consciously chose a daily routine focused on improving my well-being, happiness, and personal growth.

All my experiences, discipline, and habits were consciously chosen and finally integrated into my music and energy.

Burning Man in 1999 and the total eclipse festival in Zambia in 2001 forever changed my life. I embarked on global travels, meeting artists, energy workers, and masters. I lived a nomadic lifestyle for a decade, spent several years in California, and constantly sought out activities related to health, spirituality, and ceremonies or rituals before parties. I immersed myself in nature, engaging in yoga, mountain climbing, desert walks, camping, and swimming in natural surroundings. In 2002, I first visited Ibiza and subsequently returned every year until I finally moved there permanently in 2011. I received invitations to perform at renowned international festivals and had the opportunity to live near the beach in Israel for a whole year in 2006. It was during that time that I fully embraced my role as a dance DJ, finding immense joy in making people dance.

Over time, my interest in club parties waned, along with some outdoor events. The scene had grown bigger, wider, and more commercial. The dance floor lost its authenticity, inundated with distractions like people talking loudly, taking pictures and videos, and relying on toxic substances. I no longer felt that it was my place to be. Nevertheless, I continued playing at parties and festivals, feeling somewhat lost as to where my direction should lead.

In 2007, during a retreat in Portugal, I was introduced to a three-day program that included "trance dance." This experience reignited my joy for dancing. Despite being held in a small dance floor with only a few speakers and blindfolds on, the energy was pure and everyone present embraced the music wholeheartedly. This rekindled my enthusiasm for dance, leading me to explore dance therapy workshops and healing areas at festivals. The boom festival's healing area became one of my favorite spaces, and I discovered ecstatic dance in the Oakland Bay Area of California and retreats in Arizona during the late 2000s. Whether it was called five rhythms, 5th elements, ecstatic dance, trance dance, or any other name, the underlying concept remained the same: to discover openness, healing, awareness, liberation from the mind, and the circulation of energy. These practices aimed to release blockages and cultivate well-being through dance.

Subsequently, I started organizing events called "Dance Meditation" in Tokyo from 2008 to 2010. These events combined the elements of both parties and dance therapy. With high-quality sound systems, modern techno music, and opening rituals to closing ceremonies, these events were held in Buddhist temples, yoga studios, festivals, and occasionally even in clubs. Energy workers were invited to send healing energy to the dance floor, and the events remained free from drugs, alcohol, and casual conversations. However, in March 2011, a massive earthquake struck Japan, followed by a nuclear plant disaster, prompting my decision to move to Ibiza permanently.

During the mid-2010s, I took a break from performing to care for my father, which became an important period of personal growth. Additionally, I started developing my financial skills, investing in shares, real estate, and supporting my multi-talented friends.

I feel that I have been preparing and cultivating myself in all areas of life, gaining a deeper understanding of life itself. I am grateful for who I have become today.

I create music as medicine, aiming to uplift, heal, and energize. I eagerly look forward to sharing my music with the world and with you.
